The Blair Memorial Garden
Behind the Phinney-Jones House are our Victorian-inspired Blair Memorial Gardens, conceived by Cambridge MA landscape architect Rick Lamb and named in honor of the former curator of our museum Lisa Tulis Blair.
Our gardens are available to rent for small events. Their unique location and ambiance make them the perfect venue for wedding receptions, birthday parties and other celebrations!

Our gardens are named in honor of BHS long-time curator Lisa Tulis Blair. The two-acres showcase wildflower-native plant beds and mixed shrub-perennial plantings.
Old stone walls mark visitor pathways and serve as boundary markers along property lines. Several sitting benches provide quiet spaces for peaceful reflection.
BHS gardener-extraordinaire Jamie Hunsaker welcomes donations of plants and flowers, birdhouses and labor. Many flowering trees and bushes were donated by Barnstable residents, including Doug Mitchell.
During the Spring growing season, a BHS gardening volunteer group meet every Monday morning from 9.30-11am. Please join us!
